SESSION 1: REALM MAPPING
Theme: “Understand the Terrain—Command the Realm.”

I. OPENING CHARGE: Burning Ones Are Realm Walkers

“You can’t shift a place until you’ve discerned what rules it. And you can’t legislate in a realm you haven’t walked through in the Spirit.”

Romans 8:14 – “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Acts 16:6–10 – Paul is redirected by the Spirit. He “reads” Macedonia in a dream. Daniel 10:13 – Spiritual warfare delays the answer due to a regional principality.

Key Revelation:
As Burning Ones, we don’t just evangelize—we invade atmospheres. We read the realm like a prophet and strike like an apostle.

II. WHAT IS REALM MAPPING?

Realm Mapping = spiritually discerning the governing atmospheres, gates, climates, and oppressions of a place.

Thin places do not just manifest randomly. They are detected, discerned, and sometimes forged.

3 Layers to Discern:

1. Spiritual Climate

  • Is the realm heavy or light?

  • Is worship easy or labored?

  • Is there resistance to prayer or a flow? “Atmospheres speak. Learn to listen.”

    2. Gates and Thrones

  • Who or what is enthroned here spiritually?

  • Are there demonic idols—violence, perversion, pride, religion?

  • Are there generational covenants over this land? Psalm 24:7 — “Lift up your heads, O you gates...”

    3. Sensitivity to Receptivity

  • Do people receive the gospel freely?

  • Do you notice hunger, or hostility?

  • Are there dreams and impressions that come before entry? Matthew 10:11–14 — “Search for someone worthy...”

    III. BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF REALM DISCERNMENT

    Paul in Philippi – Acts 16

  • The region is spiritually ripe, but there is a python spirit at the gate (Acts 16:16).

  • Paul discerns the atmosphere prophetically.

  • He casts the spirit out—and a portal of revival opens.

    Elisha and the Shunammite – 2 Kings 4

  • He doesn’t just walk through town—he notices where there’s room to build an altar.

  • Her house becomes a thin place—resurrection and prophecy flow.

Jesus in Nazareth – Mark 6

  • Even the Son of God could do few miracles where honor was absent.

  • Realm dishonor = closed realm.

    IV. HOW TO MAP A REALM

    1. Fast and Scout the Land

  • Numbers 13:2–25 – Twelve spies were sent to map the terrain.

  • Ask God to show strongholds, thrones, and gates before you step in.

    2. Follow the Spiritual Currents

• Look for unusual dreams, angelic activity, demonic resistance, or prophetic impressions.

  • What songs rise in your spirit when you walk a street?

  • What emotions or burdens come upon you in prayer?

    3. Ask the Holy Spirit: “What Owns This Land?”

  • Ask bold questions:

  • “What spirit rules this street?”

  • “Who are the gatekeepers here?”

  • “Where is the open portal—or where can one be forged?”

    V. WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN MAPPING

  • Witchcraft or occult structures

  • Dead religious systems

  • Centers of compromise or violence

  • Hidden wells of revival (places where God once moved)

  • Furnaces—places of spontaneous worship, hunger, openness

    “Not every dry place is a desert—some are waiting for fire to fall—some are waiting for your rivers of living-water to flood the atmosphere”.

    VI. ACTIVATION FOR TEAMS: MAP & STRIKE

    A. Walk Your City or Region (Prayer Scouts)

  • Pray in tongues as you walk

  • Take note of spiritual sensations

  • Stop and decree where you sense resistance or readiness

  • Mark “spiritually active” locations (good or bad)

    B. Journal All Impressions

  • Record everything: dreams, emotions, images, unusual behavior

  • Compare notes with your team

  • Build a spiritual profile of the region

    VII. PROPHETIC DECREES FOR REALM MAPPERS

    Declare these as you walk:
    1. “Every hidden altar of darkness be exposed!”
    2. “Let ancient gates lift for the King of Glory to come in!”
    3. “We loose angelic access over this city block!”
    4. “We take apostolic authority over this gate in Jesus’ name!”
    5. “We declare: This shall be a furnace, not a fortress. A portal, not a prison.”

    VIII. FINAL IMPARTATION & CHARGE

“You are not tourists. You are sent ones. You are mappers of realms and forgers of glory. You carry the key to shift atmospheres and open gates.”

Prayer:
“Father, open their eyes like Elisha’s servant. Let them see the realm. Let them discern atmospheres. Let them strike the ground until portals open.”
