2. The Law of Submission to Divine Authority
• James 4:7 – “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
• Matthew 8:8-9 – “The centurion answered and said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me.’”
Authority flows through a submitted vessel. Even Jesus submitted to the Father (John 5:19). Until we completely align ourselves under God’s rule, we cannot wield His power effectively.
Application:
1. Yield Completely: Die daily to your flesh, submitting every aspect - every action and activity of your life to God (Galatians 2:20).
2. Obey His Instructions: Prompt obedience to the Holy Spirit positions you to carry divine authority. Delayed obedience is still disobedience.
3. Honor Spiritual Covering: Recognize and honor spiritual authorities in your life to stay aligned with the flow of grace (Hebrews 13:17).
