To Be A Burning One

To be a “Burning One” is to embody the very essence of one consumed by the fire of God’s presence. It is not merely a title but a mandate that requires consecration, total surrender, and unwavering commitment to the purposes of the Kingdom. The call to be a Burning One is not for the fainthearted; it demands transformation, holiness, and continual fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Let us journey into the essential character and traits that define a true Burning One.

1. Baptized in the Holy Ghost and Fire

No one can claim to be a Burning One without the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire. This is the foundation upon which the supernatural life of a believer is built. The fire of God is not a symbol; it is a reality that refines, empowers, and commissions.

Matthew 3:11 declares, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

The baptism of fire ignites zeal, purifies motives, and creates an insatiable hunger for God’s glory. It transforms ordinary men into ambassadors of Heaven, marked by signs, wonders, and demonstrations of power. Without this baptism, one cannot sustain the intensity required to burn for God.

2. Consecrated and Set Apart

To burn for God requires separation from the world. A Burning One must walk in holiness and purity, refusing to compromise with the fleeting pleasures of sin. Consecration is not a one-time decision; it is a daily choice to live for the glory of God.

2 Timothy 2:21 says, “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.”

A Burning One understands that intimacy with God is the reward of consecration. This separation is not only from sin but also from distractions that quench the Spirit. Their life becomes an altar where the fire of God is continually kindled.

3. Walks in Holiness and Righteousness

Holiness is not optional for a Burning One; it is the evidence of their transformation. Holiness is not merely the absence of sin but the presence of God’s character in a believer. Righteousness is both their position in Christ and their practice in life.

1 Peter 1:16 exhorts, “Be holy, because I am holy.”

The fire of God will not rest on an unclean vessel. Burning Ones pursue righteousness, not as a means of earning favor, but as a reflection of the nature of Christ within them. They walk blamelessly before God and men, allowing the light of their lives to convict the world of sin.

4. A Vessel of the Supernatural

A Burning One will always carry the evidence of the supernatural. The fire of God empowers them to preach the Gospel with boldness and to demonstrate the power of the Kingdom through signs, wonders, and miracles.

Mark 16:17-18 reminds us, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

A Burning One is not satisfied with mere words; they carry the power to set captives free, heal the sick, and bring deliverance to the oppressed. Wherever they go, the atmosphere shifts because they carry the tangible presence of God.

5. Unquenchable Hunger for God

The hallmark of a Burning One is their insatiable hunger for the presence of God. They are never satisfied with past encounters but continually seek deeper dimensions of His glory.

Psalm 42:1-2 captures this heart cry: “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”

This hunger fuels their prayer life, worship, and devotion to the Word. A Burning One prioritizes intimacy with God above all else, knowing that the secret place is where their fire is sustained.

6. A Life of Radical Obedience

Obedience is non-negotiable for a Burning One. They understand that the fire of God flows through yielded vessels. Partial obedience is disobedience, and a Burning One does not negotiate with God’s instructions.

1 Samuel 15:22 reminds us, “To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.”

Radical obedience positions a Burning One to be a channel of God’s power. Whether it is preaching the Gospel, fasting, or stepping out in faith, they move at the impulse of the Holy Spirit, no matter the cost.

7. Compassion for Souls.

A Burning One carries the heart of the Father for the lost. They are burdened for the salvation of souls and will go to any length to see people reconciled to God. Their fire is not self-serving; it compels them to fulfill the Great Commission.

Jude 1:23 exhorts, “Save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.”

Their evangelism is not limited to words but demonstrated through love, acts of service, and the power of God. They see every soul as a potential flame to be ignited for the Kingdom.

8. Endures Trials and Persecution

The fire of God refines and strengthens Burning Ones to endure hardship for the sake of Christ. They are not easily discouraged by opposition but view trials as opportunities for God’s glory to be revealed.

1 Peter 4:12-13 encourages, “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.”

A Burning One knows that the path to glory often leads through the furnace of affliction. They remain steadfast, trusting in God’s sovereignty and faithfulness.

To be a Burning One is to live as a conduit of Heaven on earth, consumed by the fire of God and fully yielded to His will. They walk in holiness, are baptized in the Holy Ghost and fire, and carry the tangible presence of God wherever they go. Their lives are marked by supernatural power, radical obedience, and unrelenting compassion for souls.

In the words of the Apostle Paul, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship” (Romans 12:1).

May we, too, become Burning Ones, set ablaze for the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom.

I Decree and Declare right now - that by God’s grace and mercy the capacity and anointing comes upon you to become a Burning One, baptized in the Holy Ghost and fire, set apart for the purposes of the Kingdom. May you have an unquenchable - ever sustainable burning desire to please God, and see Jesus revealed and glorified. 

I Declare that the fire of God within you will never be extinguished, but it will increase and spread, igniting revival in your life and in those around you. By God’s grace you are a vessel of supernatural power, anointed to heal the sick, cast out demons, and proclaim the Gospel with boldness. 

I Decree that every trial you face will refine and strengthen you, and no weapon formed against you will prosper. You are marked by the presence of God, a carrier of His glory, and an ambassador of His Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, it is so!

Father God,

I thank You for the grace and for the call to be Burning Ones, consumed by Your fire and set apart for Your glory. Lord, I lift up every person reading this book to You Lord, asking that You baptize them afresh with the Holy Ghost and fire. Let Your fire refine, purify, and empower them to walk in holiness, righteousness, and unwavering obedience to Your Word. Let this fire and anointing rest upon them and remain.

Father, I pray that You would stir up an unquenchable hunger for Your presence and a deep burden for souls. May they become vessels of Your supernatural power, moving in signs, wonders, and miracles that testify to Your Kingdom. Strengthen them to endure trials and persecution, knowing that Your glory is revealed through their faithfulness.

Lord, I ask that You surround each of them with Your grace,  mercy, and favor as they go forth - carrying the light of Christ into a dark and perilous corners of the world. Let their lives be living sacrifices, pleasing and acceptable to You. Ignite a revival in their hearts and in the places You send them, and may their fire never grow dim. Let them burn so bright that even their foot prints are marked by your fire and glory.
