Memphis, Tn.

In the thick of the city—where skyscrapers stretch like giants and the sidewalks steamed from the heat—I saw him. Covered in dirt and sores, clothed in rags, his eyes looked lost. I felt the pull of heaven. I looked at him and said, “You’ve been through fire and great struggle, but you carry a very special calling. You were born to rescue others.” I told him Jesus was reaching for him. In told him that the one the he hears in the night calling out to him is Jesus calling him back.  He broke. We prayed. He gave his life to Jesus, right there, in the heat and chaos.

A son came home.
