I sat beside him on a stone barrier—his hands and clothes, dirty, and dusty from work. He looked tired, weary and forgotten. I said, Jesus offers rest for your soul ya know. He looked at me with a curious expression. I said Do you know that God delights in you? The Bible says that he rejoices over you with singing. I told him to get rest for your body you need sleep—your body can’t go without it. But, to get rest for your weariness, you need Jesus, your spirit can’t survive without Him. We prayed. He chose to follow Jesus and make Him lord of his life. He just kinda looked at me smiled and said “thanks man, you don’t know how much I really really needed that”. Hope returned to a weary soul.
